Along with the preached word, they are identified as an ordinary means of grace for salvation. وعلاوة على الوعظ الكتابي، تعتبر الأسرار وسيلة نعمة عادية للخلاص.
They are means of grace by which God works invisibly in us, quickening, strengthening and confirming our faith in him. كذلك الأمر بيننا وبين الله، فالله له دَين في رقابنا مقابل خلقه إيانا ورزقه ونعمه وحمايته لنا وفضله علينا.
